10 Best Feminist Podcasts on Gender Equality

Home Society Gender Equality

Women-hosted podcasts have gradually risen in numbers in the more dominated male podcast world. While the balance is great, what’s even better is the resulting increase in feminist and gender equality podcasts.

We asked around and got the top recommendations from women in leadership positions for the best feminist podcasts that aim at gender equality and equity. Here are the top picks;

1. The Guilty Feminist Hosted By Deborah White

Deborah White’s voice on The Guilty Feminist has been giving goosebumps for a while now. I think that hers. and her approach to feminism, in general, are simply amazing.

Alina Clark, Co-Founder & Marketing Director of CocoDoc

The comedic punch in this podcast is something worth savoring altogether. Deborah simply goes into everything. She has a great portfolio of guests too. The fact that her guests go all out to discuss their careers, their insecurities, and how feminism affects their everyday lives makes for compelling content too.

2. Financial Feminist Hosted By Tori Dunlap

One of the main principles we promote on our personal finance site is the need for gender equality when it comes to money management. This is why I’m a huge supporter of the Financial Feminist podcast, which is hosted by Tori Dunlap and aims to help women secure their financial futures. With much of the world of personal finance being so male-dominated, it’s always great to find a podcast that has the goal of turning this on its head.

3. Talk Birdie To Me-Shelley Hosted By Anya Alvarez-Shelley

Talk birdie to me-Shelley is a feminist podcast on gender equality and equity hosted by Anya Alvarez-Shelley. Anya Alvarez-Shelley (AYLM) is an award-winning independent screenwriter, playwright, and director. It aims to ignite a conversation about feminism, intersectionality, identity politics, and all that jazz.

AYLM’s show is created for everyone, ranging from pop culture to current events through real-life stories and personal anecdotes. Whether you want to be a part of or listen in on the conversation, this show is perfect for dissecting the need for diversity across industries.

4. No Grey Zone Podcast Co-hosted By Kathryn Marsh and Melissa Hoppmeyer

No Grey Zone Podcast, a podcast focused on conversations about gender-based violence and how to end it in our lifetime. We focus on issues of consent, human trafficking, marginalized populations, and how we can educate ourselves to end gender-based violence.

Kathryn Marsh and Melissa Hoppmeyer are career special victims prosecutors and also Co-Host No Grey Zone Podcast.

5. Dream Job Hosted By Danielle Cob

Women stepping into their dream job, earning the salary they are worth and creating their desired life. Career Coach and Leadership Development Coach; Danielle Cobo interviews women who have overcome adversity and leveled up their careers and life.

Women learn how to eliminate the inner critic holding them back from pursuing their dream, build confidence, create healthy boundaries to transition burn-out to re-energize, and gain clarity on accelerating their careers.

Danielle Cobo, Leadership and Career Coach, Corporate Trainer, Professional Speaker

6. Hey Girl Hosted By Alex Elle

Forgiveness, feminism, discovering your power, and having your voice heard are among topics covered in this storytelling podcast. In my opinion, as a founder, hey, girl host Alex Elle adds a level of sensitivity to debates about women’s empowerment that is rather unique. She’s mainly interested in what artistic and psychological freedom means for women, and she invites people ranging from relatives to protesters and fellow artists to discuss it.

Sonya Schwartz, Founder at Her Norm

7. Feminist Wellness

As a female that made a way to show that the business world is not just for men, I think that I somehow made a point when I will say that gender equality and equity should not be something to be asked but rather be part of what is normal. The podcast entitled Feminist Wellness is one that I can say to be a powerful voice about how a woman can be capable and peaceful within herself.

This podcast is suitable for women that wish to have a great perspective towards themselves when it comes to being powerful, smart, well, and healthy. Through this podcast, a woman can realize that society’s belief toward prejudice and bias is all false and nonsense.

8. Unladylike Co-Hosted By Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin

This podcast features stories about the struggles of women in society today. The hosts of this podcast bring light to all aspects of life for women, including self-esteem, sexual harassment, and workplace discrimination. The hosts, Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin, also share personal stories about their lives and experiences with all different types of womanhood.

Lynda Fairlym, Co-Founder Numlooker

9. Feminist Frequency

Broadly, Feminist Frequency is about critically examining the representation of women in pop media and culture. With a clear bias towards female-focused content, it feels like an inclusive environment that challenges both cis privilege and heteronormativity in a way I feel comfortable listening to every week.

10. Feminapod

Feminapod provides a quarterly discussion on contemporary feminist issues from a women’s perspective, including intersectionality, reproductive health care, work-life balance, gender equity at work & home, and more! It’s been around for five years, so there are tons of interesting topics to explore.
