A 49-year-old man suffered major injuries Saturday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle on state Route 79, east of Palomar Mountain, a California Highway Patrol officer said Tuesday.
The man had passed a vehicle on northbound SR-79 in a curve and drifted onto the right hand dirt shoulder, just south of the Riverside County line, about 11 a.m. Saturday, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. That’s when the rider lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown onto the dirt shoulder.
Paramedics took the man, an El Cajon resident, to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, Grieshaber said.
Investigators believe neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash, Grieshaber said.
