A 54-year-old man riding an electric scooter against a red light was hospitalized after being hit by a car Monday evening, police said.
The rider was heading east on Elm Street shortly before 5 p.m. when he was struck by a car driven by a 49-year-old man heading south on Euclid Avenue, San Diego police said.
Police said the rider entered the intersection against a red signal when he was hit.
The man on the scooter suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
