Organization Name:
Casa Teresa

Organization Mission:
We save lives by providing a temporary home and on-going support for pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are homeless and alone.  Counseling and education programs prepare these women to make loving and informed decisions for themselves and their babies.
Main Services Provided

Founded in 1976, Casa Teresa provides a transformational, comprehensive program for homeless, pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are alone.  Located in Orange, California, Casa Teresa is home to approximately 75 mothers and babies each year from all over the United States.  Additionally, referrals and one-time counseling is provided to more than 400 women each year.  To date, Casa Teresa has supported more than 2,500 mothers determined to break the generational cycle of poverty, addiction and abuse to create a brighter future for themselves and their babies.

Casa Teresa offers a safe and healthy living environment, perinatal healthcare, individual and group counseling, case management, career and educational advancement assistance and life-skills classes. Each mom pays a program fee based on their individual financial situation.  No woman is turned away for lack of funds. Residents who have no income and are ineligible for government assistance are funded by grants and private donations.

Casa Teresa offers three separate residential programs: Parenting Program, Transformation Program and Hannah’s House Adoption Program.
