Main Services Provided
Founded in 1980, the mission of NAMI-OC is to provide emotional support, education and resources for families, and those affected by mental health conditions. In collaboration with the entire community, we advocate for a life of quality and dignity, one without discrimination, for all individuals affected by mental illness. NAMI-OC (an affiliate of NAMI National and NAMI California) receives funding form its membership, MHSA and from the community. All programs and services are offered FREE to the public.

NAMI OC offers a wide range of educational programs for both the individual and their families. NAMI’s Signature Programs are evidence based and have been proven to make a difference in the lives of individuals and family members facing the challenges of living with mental illness. All programs focus on: understanding the facts about mental illness, strategies and skills for coping, facilitate the treatment process, healing and empowerment for everyone affected. NAMI OC also holds weekly and monthly support groups throughout the county, facilitated by volunteer mental health professionals.

Accomplishments
NAMIWalks is NAMI Orange County’s largest fundraising and mental health awareness event. Now in its 7th year the NAMIWalks will once again take place at the scenic Huntington Beach Pier on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. Last year, more than 1500 walkers participated and over $130,000 was raised. Our goal this year is to substantially increase the number of participant walkers and to raise over $150.000. In a county with over 3 million people where 1 in 5 individuals are affected by mental illness, there is a great need for the support services of NAMI Orange County.

Contributions to the NAMIWalk can be provided through business or company sponsorships,
In-Kind donations or by joining the Walk registering as an individual or by creating your own Walk Team. No registration fee required for joining the NAMIWalks – The event is FREE!
