Charitable non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance to families and individuals in need so that they can continue to be positive contributors to our community.
Main Services Provided

GILCHRIST HOUSE - Homeless shelter for single women and women with children up to the age of 10. Transitional program with up to 12 month stay. Focus is in life skills training and case management.

FOOD PANTRY - Assisting more than 2000 clients in families per month.

HOMELESS PREVENTION - Groceries, bus passes, gas vouchers, financial assistance with rent and utilities, job counseling referrals, etc.

Accomplishments
Family assistance ministries is a faith based organization. Our areas of service are San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo. Since our inception, we have made a significant impact on the homeless and low-income community of South Orange County:
600 families were helped with emergency funds for rent to prevent eviction
300 families retained utility service
400 senior citizens received financial assistance for housing, utility, and medical services
60,000 individuals received emergency food and other basic needs supplies
300 women and children have received shelter at Gilchrist House
Our local community is very supportive and involved in partnering with FAM to assist those in need.
