Celebrating 35 years of community service on February 23, 2012, Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County (www.nhsoc.org) strengthens communities and enhances the quality of life for working families by expanding housing opportunities, promoting sound financial management, and encouraging civic engagement.

NHS OC strives to be the recognized leader, non-profit partner and facilitator of collaborative efforts in Orange County to find and implement innovative housing solutions that are accessible to working families.  NHS OC celebrates and encourages diverse contributions of resident leaders, business & government partners, developers and funders to ensure that Orange County is a place where families with a wide range of incomes can live in quality housing and healthy neighborhoods.

Accomplishments
As a result of our dedication to the community, organizational sustainability, and programmatic strength, NHS OC has received numerous awards at local, state, and national levels. NeighborWorks America, a well-respected public non-profit, has ranked NHS OC as an exemplary member of the NeighborWorks Network. In addition, NHS OC was recently recognized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for being the first recipient of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant to spend 50% of funds and meet expenditure requirements.

NHS OC has also enjoyed remarkable success in turning marginal neighborhoods into attractive, desirable and affordable places to live by developing and preserving quality residential housing.

Greatest Needs
Contributing to NHS OC is a fulfilling and fruitful experience. Whether you choose to make a general donation or financially support a specific program, you can be confident in knowing that your contributions are being spent appropriately and effectively.  NHS OC’s Fundraising Department also has a need for volunteers who can provide a minimum of 12 hours a week for a minimum of three (3) months.  Other departments also have a need for volunteers.
