Thomas House Temporary Shelter is a transitional shelter for homeless families located in an apartment complex in Garden Grove. At any one time 15 families live at Thomas House in furnished apartments. They receive food and supportive services while they work, pay bills and save money that will help them to attain permanent housing and an improved quality of life. The majority of the families are headed by single mothers, but some are two parent families or single dads with children. Services provided to the families during their 6-9 month stay include: |

| In 1987 a group of concerned people rented one
unit in an apartment complex and gave shelter to one or two families for
a week. In 2003, the Board of Directors purchased the 16 unit apartment
complex that now offers shelter, supportive services and assistance with
transition to permanent housing to 15 families at a time. Since 1987 Thomas House has made a difference in the lives of 896 families. |
